Precious Reynolds fro Willow Creek, California, is eight years old who got rabies from a feral cat. Reynolds was treated by pediatrictions at the University of California Children's Hospital. The hospital reported she is the thid person in the United States to recover rom the vius without any abtivial inoculations. Reynolds got the disease in April but they were unaware she had the disease, that's why she was never treated. It is believed that she got it from a feral cat that she had come across at her elementary schoo in Humboldt County. The infected animal had never been found. Preciou's was tested in early May after she was taken to the doctors for flu-like symptoms. Her grandmother said the symptoms gew verry seious and had begun to resemble polio. When she arrived at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit the nurses thought her chances were very slim. Krystle Realyvasquez said "none of us thought she would leave the PICU, what she did was unbelievable". Precious spent two weeks in intensive care unit undergoing teatments.
