In Mexico City Police found the decapitated and dismembered bodies of 18 people near Mexico's second largest city. Guadalajara, on Wednesday, in what appeared to be the latest disater by the country's most brutal drug cartel. Thought to have been carried out by the Zetas gang, it was one of the biggest beheadings in the history of Mexico. The bodies and heads were stuffed into two vehicles abandoned on the side of a highway in the small town of Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, said the chief prosecutor Tomas Coronado, for the state of Jalisco. Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos is located 18 miles south of the center of Guadalajara on the road to Lake Chapala,  a very site popular with foreign tourists and U.S. citizens. A policeman at the scene in Ixtlahuacan de Me,brillos said some victims had been so badly mutilated that police officers could not determine whether the victims were male or female. Police reported that some of the bodies had been refrigerated before they were dumped. The police officers said that a note on the bodies was signed by the Zetas cartel. The Zeta cartel had been led by former Mexican soldiers. They are being blamed with some of Mexico's worst disater. Attacks between the Zetas and their rivals have apearred across Mexico since the beginning of this year. Friday, nine corpses were hanged from a bridge in the border of Nuevo Laredo just a few hours before the other fourteen bodies were discovered in garbage bags and ice boxes. Also there was five days of very intense battles in western Sinaloa state last week. It left 34 dead, which also added to the body count in Mexico's drug war. More than 50,000 people had been killed in the past five years. The AP has reported that the vehicles were descibed as minivans and were towed to the goverment offices to unload the bodies. The city of Gudadalajara is known for its high-tech indusrty, tequila, and mariachi bands. This has been a stragery base for taffickers since the 1980's. http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/10/11632609-18-dismembered-bodies-found-near-guadalajara-mexico?lite
